Term 2 update

Term two has started very smoothly. Our grade 3/4 camp at Cave Hill Creek was a great success. Take a look at the photos.

Sustainability has been a major focus in grade 3-6 with some excellent units of work been delivered by Kerry Carman in co-operation with SHARE. The grade 3/4 students have planted trees at Cornish Hill. This has been a long standing association with ‘Friends of Cornish Hill’ group.

The Kitchen Garden program struggled with volunteers, but thanks to the positive response to our call out the KG sessions are continuing to have very positive outcomes. The harvest of pumpkins and potatoes was an excellent one.

The learning across the school is very exciting. We are seeing very strong foundations been laid in the EY classes, the literacy and numeracy groups are working extremely well.

Our Maths Specialists are making a difference across the school in the delivery of Maths.

The staff Professional Development this term is focus on the teaching of Numeracy.

Look out for some exciting results in Cross Country with 35 students representing the school at the Goldfields XC on Friday.

We have established a sister school relationship with a school in Italy. Look out for more information about how our Italian classes will be communicating across the seas.

Pre-School parents have been invited to attend our Open Day on Tuesday 21st May.

Grade 5/6 will be visiting camp Wilken at the end of May and we be visiting Earth Ed in Ballarat as a part of their sustainability studies.

Our annual bookfair is coming up soon. All funds raised go towards the school's literacy program. Get involved if you can, either by donating books for sale, helping with the sorting and pricing of books or to assisting on the day of the fair. Please contact the school for further information...
